Abstract

The Effect of Age- Related Differences on the Measures of Motor Performance and Anthropometric Indices

Author(s): Samaneh Imanipour

Age differences are related to motor coordination and knowing about age differences is necessary in the recognition of performance changes. Although in many studies that have been done on clinical measures of motor performance, the effect of age- related differences in performing these tests and also the relationship of age with anthropometric index have been studies, the correlation of these indices in structure equation models (SEM) hasn’t been studied yet. Therefore, this research paper studies the structural relation of measures of motor performance and anthropometric indices in 133 subjects aged 18- 59 years old. Three models were examined separately. In the first and second models, two variables related to age are mediated in the performance of motor measures through anthropometric indices. The difference between the two models only lies in the number of variables related to the test of motor performance measures. The third model showed the goodness- of- model- fit better than others, in which the relation of age with anthropometric indices and also the correlation of age with performance tests were identified.
