A novel class of 1, 3, 4-thiadiazole derivatives incorporating with bis benzamide moiety were prepared from the new synthetic methodology via the reaction of N-(4-Hydrazinocarbonyl-phenyl)-benzamide with the appropriate Isothiocyanato benzene derivatives. These compounds were screened for their antimycobacterial activity against M. tuberculosis H37Rv strains along with their antimicrobial activity. Among the synthesized compounds 4(d), 4(f), 4(g) and 4(j) have shown more activity compared to the standard drugs employed. Structures of the newly synthesized compounds were established by IR, 1H NMR, 13C NMR and MS spectral data.
