Synthesis and antimicrobial screening of 1,6-dihydropyrimidine derivatives

Some new dihydropyrimidines have been synthesized and their structures have been elucidated on the basis of IR, 1H NMR and mass spectral data. The compounds were also assayed for their biological assay in DMF and DMSO. It is observed that DMSO is better solvent for the studied compounds and vanillin, salicyldehyde and furan-2-carbaldehyde are found to be most effective in the studied strains.
