The present study deals with the seasonal variations in soil fungal population of traditional sugarcane field in central Uttar Pradesh. Soil fungi in sugarcane field need to improve knowledge of diversity of these micro fungi in sugarcane growing area; viz. Pilibhit, Lakhimpur Kheri, Sitapur, Shahjahanpur and Hordoi districts of Central Uttar Pradesh. The aim of this work was to isolate and identify the fungi from soil samples of these sugarcane fields. 31 samples of sand (surface of 20cm deep) were carried out during Jan- Dec 2013 in low to high tide. In all the 13 genera and 42 species were observed on these samples.
