The present work is mainly based on the preparation and evaluation of emulgel loaded with nimorazole (NMZ), which is a hypoxic cell radiosensitizing agent. The emulgel formulations prepared were investigated for various tests such as Viscosity, Spreadibilty, Extrudability, Drug release, Globules size and Zeta potential. The invitro release studies were done using an egg membrane which showed that the cumulative drug release was 80-92 % within five to eight hours. After conducting the various invitro tests, formulations F3 and F1 were found to give the best results. Skin irritation tests were performed on male wistar rats, which concluded that the formulations developed no irritation on to the site of application on the skin.
