Polyvinyl alcohol-Polypyrrole composite films were prepared by solution casting technique using chemical oxidative polymerization of pyrrole. Ferric Chloride (FeCl3) was used as an oxidizing agent. This technique produces conductive, flexible and free standing polymer composite films. The dc conductivity was obtained from current-voltage characteristics by using two probe technique in the temperature range of 303K -343K. The conductivity increases as temperature and oxidant concentration are increased. The temperature dependence of conductivity is explained using two different models namely Arrhenius and Mott’s Variable Range Hopping (VRH) model. Activation energy (Ea) and hopping parameters are determined.
