Abstract

Optical properties of CdCr2S4 thin film

Thin film of CdCr2S4 for thickness 2500 ���º was prepared on amorphous glass substrate by CBD. The X-ray diffraction pattern of CdCr2S4 deposited thin films was polycrystalline in nature having cubic structure. From SEM, all the particles are oriented in different directions having uniform surface coverage with some voids. Optical analysis study gives the value of fundamental absorption edge from the intercept lies at 1.6 - 3.3 eV, the corresponding absorption coefficient values was 18 x 104 to 20 x 104 and the indirect optical energy band gap of this sample was 1.99 eV.
