New validated RP-HPLC method for the determination of fexofenadine in bulk and dosage form

This investigation describes a new precise, sensitive and accurate RP-HPLC method for the estimation of Fexofenadine in Bulk and Tablets. The resolution of drug was achieved on Symmetry C18 (150mm x 4.6mm i.d., 5mm particle size) column with UV detection at 254 nm and the mobile phase consist of Buffer and Methanol (30:70v/v).Using chromatographic conditions described Fexofenadine was well resolved with mean retention time of 3.399 min, respectively. Linear response (r>0.999) was observed over the range of 20-60μg/mL. The lower limit of quantification and lower limit of detection was found to be 9.92 and 3.03 for Fexofenadine. The Validation parameters were performed according to the ICH guidelines and the proposed method can be useful in the routine analysis for the determination of Fexofenadine in Pharmaceutical dosage forms.
