This study was aimed to Influence of Acalypha indica in cell proliferation, cell cycle arrest and anticancer activity in Ht-29 colon cell lines. Cytotoxicity, different concentrations of ethyl acetate extract and methanol extract of Acalypha indicawere tested against HT-29 cell line. MTT assay was carried out in 24 well plates. The methanolic extract of Acalypha indica leaves has high inhibitory activity against 3 pathogens such as Staphylococcus aureus, Klebsiella pneumonia and Escherichia coliand 2 fungi’s such as Candida albicans and Aspergillus niger. Phytochemical screening of aqueous extract of Acalypha indicaleaves indicates the presence of Alkaloids, Steroids, Flavonoids, Saponins, Quinone, Phenols, Catechol and Proteins.. Supplementation of Acalypha indicasignificant anti cancer and antioxidant activity in HT-29 cell line and DPPH scavenging activity. Acalypha indica leaves showed more significant activity against all tested bacterial and fungal organisms and also suggested that the plant leaves has anticancer and antioxidant activity and also able to act against the proliferation and apoptosis of HT-29 colon cancer cell growth. Finally it was concluded that the Acalypha indica leaves could provide potential bioactive compounds for the development of new leads to cancer diseases.
