Coccinia grandis Linn. (Cucurbitaceae) is a climbing perennial branched herb, distributed throughout India. The in vitro antioxidant capability of the aqueous, ethanolic, methanolic and ethyl acetate extracts of C. grandis was evaluated. Among the following methanolic extract showed very high percentage of inhibition of DPPH, ABTS+, hydrogen peroxide, hydroxyl and nitric acid radicals.
