Abstract

Improved bubble reader system by integrating new acoustic noise cancellation method

Author(s): Jagdeesh P. Meena, Arvind Parihar, Shyam G. Vaijapurkar and Anand Mohan

The bubble reader system was developed at defence laboratory, Jodhpur for indigenously developed superheated liquid neutron sensor. The bubbles formed due to absorption of neutron energy in superheated emulsion based neutron detector generate the acoustic signal. There is always possibility of false bubble counting due to external acoustic noise registration. Time delay estimation model was developed and experimentally verified. The model was used to design and develop universal anti-coincidence circuit. The paper presents implementation of the anti-coincidence circuit in the bubble reader system to cancel the acoustic noise. The performance of the bubble reader system after implementation of anti-coincidence method was evaluated.
