Abstract

Growth and characterization of Urea citric acid (UCA) single crystals by slow evaporation process

Author(s): A Selvam, S. Pandi, S. Selvakumar , S.Srinivasan

Single crystals of a novel organic urea citric acid (UCA) were grown by slow evaporation process. The grown crystals were characterized by single crystal X-ray diffraction (XRD), Fourier Transform Infrared (FTIR), thermal analysis (TG-DTA), UV absorption and dielectric studies. The structure of UCA was confirmed by single-crystal XRD analysis. FTIR and UV–visible spectra reveal the functional group identification and optical property of the grown crystals. Thermal analysis was performed to study the thermal stability of the grown crystals. Dielectric constant and dielectric loss for various frequencies and temperatures were performed on UCA single crystal.
