Nonlinear optical single crystal of bis(thiourea) lead formate - Pb[CS(NH2)2]2 (CHOO)2 was conveniently grown by slow evaporation technique at room temperature. The sample was confirmed by single crystal XRD studies. The grown crystals were subjected to optical characterization by FT-IR and UV-Vis-NIR techniques. The second harmonic generation efficiency of the crystal was studied and found to be nearly 2 times that of KDP. The microhardness studies on BTLF suggest that the crystal has a relatively high mechanical strength. The dielectric response and photoconductivity nature of the crystal were also investigated and reported.
