Abstract

Functional conserved domain analysis and prediction of gram-negative nonproteo infectious bacteria

Author(s): Kambhampati A, Patil AP. and Desai PV.

This study analysed the genome of gram negative non-proteo infectious bacteria to find out the analogous proteins
present in them, so that we can develop a drug that can act on the specific targets present in the maximum number
of strains of these bacteria’s. Our main interest was in the Adhesins which with the help of softwares and databases
helped in predicting the “target” domains. NCBI, ClustalW2, SPAAN, CDD and many other computational
techniques and softwares were utilized for this study. We predicted the domains that can be used as potential targets
in drug discovery. Out of the 900 adhesins, 786 proteins with either one of more than one domain and 114 proteins
were without conserved region were predicted with the help of a database
