Therapeutic use of antibiotics are based on veterinary experience in the regions than basing on the results of susceptibility testing of bacteria because this test is time consuming and what is achieved in the laboratory, regardless of the immune system and again time is a key measure of treatment so that early treatment will have a better result. However, the antibiotic should have higher tissue permeation and reach high concentration in lung tissue. The aim of this study was to evaluate the effect of gentamicin in controlling of febrile pneumonia in calves. In this study, forty crossover calves with 3-6 months of age and with an average weight of 60 to 100 kg with pneumonia were clinically inspected. Infected calves were divided into two parts: In the control group, treatment with a dose of 5 mg per kg of drugs Jentavet first day of each 12-hour and the next days, once every 24 hours intramuscularly for three days was used, in the experimental group like control group for the treatment Erfa gentamicin 5% was used. According to the results of the study, there were not any significant difference in antibiogram of isolated bacteria between the two antibiotics which were studied (p>0.05). Also the results showed that percentage of clinical recovery in under treatment cases, which gentamicin of Erfan-darou Company was injected, better than control group
