The present investigation synthesized information on macro invertebrate biodiversity in theSatajan wetland of Assam. A total of twenty two macro invertebrate species belonging to five orders of phylum arthropod and only a single order of phylum mollusc has been recorded. The value of individual diversity indices like Shannon – Weiner index (H); Simpson index of diversity (1-D);Simpson Dominance index (D); Margalef’s index(Ma);Pielou Evenness Index (J) and McIntosh Diversity Index (Mc)of macro invertebrate community of Satajan Wetland shows that the ecological condition is at the verge of degradation due to adding up of pollutant from various sources like domestic sewage, pesticides and fertilizers including the droplets of migratory birds during winter season in particular.
