The current study was carried out to develop and validate a simple, accurate, precise, reproducible and cost effective UV-Visible spectrophotometric method for the estimation of Ticagrelor in bulk form. The solvent used throughout the experiment was Methanol. Absorption maxima (λmax) of the Ticagrelor were found to be 224 and 255 nm. The Beer’s law was obeyed in the range of 2-7μg/mL. The method was shown linear in the mentioned concentrations having line equation y = 0.141x + 0.125 with correlation coefficient R2 of 0.998. The recovery values for Ticagrelor ranged from 99.59% to 101.66%. The % RSD was 0.37% and 0.39%, respectively for intraday and interday precision. The limit of detection and limit of quantification was 0.05μg/mL and 0.20μg/mL respectively. Method was statistically validated for accuracy, precision, linearity and solution stability; hence it is directly applicable for the determination of Ticagrelor in API and bulk form.
