This study aimed to compare the contents of heart enzymesand blood coagulation tests using two community different methods of direct sampling from the vein with saline lock in patients hospitalized in the cardiac care unite (CCU)with a diagnosis of acute coronary syndrome. In this quasi- experimental study, 80 patients admitted to the CCU of Ali IbnAbiTalib (AS) Hospital of Zahedan were selected through the purposive sampling. The required blood volume was extracted using Saline Lock catheter (SL)for performing the cardiac enzymes and coagulation tests on the patients and was poured into the experiment tube. Then the same amount of blood was obtained by venipuncture. In a number of patients the blood sampling was conducted in two or three times. Data was analyzed using SPSS version 16 and paired T-test wasapplied. The results obtained from 135 pairs of blood sample obtained from the vein and SL, there was no statistically significant difference between the levels of cardiac enzymes. As well asamong 148 pairs of blood samples obtained from the vein and catheter saline, there was no statistically significant difference between the results of coagulation tests. The results of this study suggest that a SL with a proper size were fixed in order to perform the frequent blood sample test seriesof veins of the patients is a reliable method.
