This research presents the chemical composition, antibacterial and antioxidant activities of essential oils and various extracts from Geranium sanguineum L. flowers. The essential oil composition of Geranium sanguineum L. flowers were investigated by GC/MS with 77 identified volatile constituents. Phenyl butanone, linalool, benzyl alcohol, α-cadinol, globulol and viridiflorol were found to be the major components, respectively. The essential oil played a major role as a remarkable antimicrobial agent according to their inhibition action against all pathogenic bacteria followed by dichloromethane extract, hexane extract, and methanol extract, respectively. The essential oil were also evaluated to be superior to all extracts tested with an IC50 value of 85 μg/ml whereas other extracts showed their IC50 values ranging from 100 to 197.7 μg/ml.
