The corrosion inhibition characteristics of Argan oil food of bechar region (AOF) have been studied as an ecofriendly green inhibitor for corrosion control of carbon steel in 1.0 M HCl solution using potentiodynamic polarization and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) techniques. The effects of inhibitor concentration on the inhibition action was investigated. The adsorption of AOF on carbon steel surface obeyed Frumkin adsorption isotherm. Polarization measurements showed that the AOF acted as mixed inhibitor in 1.0 M HCl solution and the inhibitor molecules followed physical adsorption on the surface of carbon steel. Results obtained from Tafel extrapolation and A.C electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) techniques were in good agreement.
