The present study focused on the hydrogeochemistry of Aba Metropolis to assess the quality of groundwater for determining its suitability for agricultural purposes. Groundwater samples were collected from eight strategic locations in Aba Metropolis during dry season, and were analyzed for physico-chemical parameters such as pH, EC, TDS, sodium, potassium, calcium, magnesium, chloride, sulphate, carbonate, bicarbonate, and nitrate. The calculated values of Sodium Adsorption Ratio (SAR), Residual Sodium Carbonate (RSC) and Percentage Sodium (%Na) indicate that the water if used for Agricultural (irrigation) purposes ranges from excellent to good in quality. US Salinity diagram was used for evaluating the water quality for irrigation which suggests that the majority of the groundwater samples were good for irrigation.
