A new validated RP – HPLC method was developed for the determination of Amoxycillin trihydrate in dosage form. The method developed produced high sensitivity, precision and accuracy. An isocratic C18 (150 x 4.6 mm, 5μ) column was used with mobile phase of composition Methanol : Water in the ratio of 65:35 v/v and 1.0 mL/min flow rate with UV detection at 230 mn for Amoxycillin trihydrate. The retention time of the drug was 5.0 minutes. The developed method was validated for specificity, linearity, precision, accuracy and robustness as per ICH guidelines. Linearity was found in the range of 0.05-1.4μg/ml. The mean recovery of the drug was 86.0 %. The proposed method could be used for routine analysis of Amoxycillin trihydrate in their dosage forms.
