    Pathophysiological Basis of Cardiac Remodeling

    Cardiac remodeling is a two-phase process that is clinically manifested as the change in the size, shape, structure and function of the human heart. Its primary cause births from cardiac overload and cardiac injury. Cardiac remodeling plays a crucial role in the progression of heart failure especially when factors like oxidative stress and inflammation occur. Several investigation techniques have been unveiled in the findings about cardiac remodeling. Of these techniques, the cardiac magnetic resonance technique and the Positron Emission Tomography (PET) methods have proved helpful. Many pharmacological strategies are beginning to show promising solutions to the progression of heart failure by reverse cardiac remodeling.
