Synthesis and anti-anxiety activity of some 7-chloro-5-phenyl-1,3-dihydro-1H,3H-1,4-benzodiazepine-2-one derivatives in mice

Abstract

Some new various aromatic aldehyde derivatives of 7-chloro-5-phenyl-1,3-dihydro-1H,1,4-benzodiazepine-2-one were synthesized and evaluated for their anti-anxiety activity by using  elevated plus-maze method. The activity of all synthesized compounds were compared with diazepam which was used as standard drug. Compounds  4a, 4b, 4e, 4j and 4k were found to have significant activiity .
